Morgan G
Copywriter
Passionate writer, educator & ambassador for women in the wine industry, Morgan describes her work as 'brief-proof', always nailing a client's brief.
Summary
Morgan stumbled across wine whilst studying her Bachelor of Communications and Media majoring in Journalism, and a short course at NIDA in Sydney with the end goal of becoming a Television Presenter (think: Getaway). Wine wasn’t just for drinking at the end of a hard day but a curious hobby which later evolved into a strong passion and serious career contemplation as she started working in wine bars across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Throughout her career Morgan has led Sommelier teams across multiple hatted restaurants in Brisbane, completed studies in WSET, seen herself as a Finalist in various competitions and programs such as Chaine des Rotisseurs Young Sommelier Competition and Negociants ‘Working with Wine’ Program. The peak of her career was being chosen as 1 of 50 of the ‘World’s Best Up-and-Coming Sommeliers’ in the ‘Somms of the World’ program hosted by Wine Australia, with the pinnacle here being invited to ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards’, for the first time ever hosted in Australia.
Morgan is a passionate writer, educator and ambassador for women in the wine industry. Her writing experience is completely freelance and she describes her work as 'brief-proof', always nailing the client's objectives and sneaking in a little bit of cheek, if she is allowed. She is a dedicated mental health ambassador and drives this in the changing hospitality space. In her restaurant experience she has often looked after advertising and social media campaigns.
